Discover your sea legs in Aberdeenshire !
Torry Battery (just beside Aberdeen Harbour entrance- 25 mins Harestone) has been shown to have the highest possibility of spotting bottlenose dolphins in Scotland year round. The resident population has approximately 190 residents.
Aberdeen harbour is a rich feeding ground for a pod of Bottlenose Dolphins that can be seen on most journeys just as you pass the harbour breakwater. There are usually around 20 dolphins present, however seeing 50 or more dolphins is not uncommon.
The best months to spot them are April – July and you don’t even have to take a boat trip, you can view them from the shore.

The dolphins can be spotted most days year-round at the entrance to Aberdeen Harbour often displaying playful behaviour. The Greyhope Bay Centre is an “off-grid” eco-facility built by converting shipping containers and forms part of 5-year plan to establish Torry Battery as a vibrant destination in Aberdeen.
Torry Point Battery was built in 1860 as a training ground and barracks for soldiers stationed there until it was decommissioned in the 1950s
