The 44 acre Duthie Park is located in the south of the city along the River Dee. It was donated to the city by Miss Duthie in 1880 and is Scotland’s third most visited gardens. In the 1900s the David Welch Winter Gardens were added to the park and this provides a unique indoor plant haven.
The park is loved by locals and visitors and is enjoyed year round. The ponds and fountains are loved by remote controlled boat enthusiasts and the playparks are always busy with excited children.
During the summer months many festivals and event take place on the large lawns and it is a great place to relax and unwind
The park also links directly onto the Deeside Way, a former railway line which is now a popular walking, cycling and horse riding route from the heart of Aberdeen to the countryside of Aberdeenshire.
David Welsh Winter Gardens
This is the jewel in the crown of Duthie Park and houses one of the most visited botanical garden’s.
The Winter Gardens is one of the largest indoor gardens in Europe. Inside the garden, you can admire and smell the range of beautiful flowers.
The garden also includes the Temperate House, Corridor of Perfumes, Fern House, Victorian Corridor, Japanese Garden, Tropical House and Arid House & the world’s only TALKING cactus!
