At Harestone

Come and stay at our stunning rewilding, nature sanctuary, where you can enjoy tranquil walks through the wetlands and ponds watching the birds and wildlife. Visit our croft animals as they help us with our natural grazing, and get that iconic Scottish photo of our Highland cows.

We have been very lucky to receive funding from Nature Scot and they were so positive about our plans for a large part of our croft to be given back to nature. If you would like to find out more detail about our rewilding journey and the projects we are currently working on. Click below

Harestone Moss Rewilding

We are lucky to have 70 acres, and it was time to give something back ,truly be different, and let nature do the work. We love the idea of small projects across Scotland becoming wild stepping stones to the larger rewilding efforts & becoming that important connective glue.

We began the slow process of rewilding Harestone in 2020. Essentially we left the land alone for 2 years to see what happened after years of intensive farming. This gave us our wild plan. Create layered systems, where rewilding is given as much freedom as possible, but can be economically viable so it can remain in place for years to come.

for you to enjoy

Rewilding can help reverse species extinction, tackle climate change but it can also improve your overall health and wellbeing. A nature-rich landscape is good for you! Breath clean air, meander through meadow grass paths without a care in the world, watch the wildlife go by from your unique outdoor accommodation and sample the produce grown right here.

Raised walkways will allow access to the wetlands and bird hides and relax by the ponds & lakes and watch the sunset go down. We don’t want to exclude anyone –  nature , wildlife and people. We are a part of nature, not apart from nature

People are the heart and soul of rewilding !

You don't have to be great to start,
but you have to start to be great !
